And yes, you can brainwash enemy Special Units and use their abilities just as if you'd built them.
Note of interest: if you were very lucky in a 2v2 against Scallywags and Adorables and converted both their Special Units, you could teleport a shelled Bombshell with a Mobi. But don't tell anyone! *Pssst*

Another curiosity is that scrambling any of Bramble's Thorns effectively gives you a rooted Bramble. I have to wonder if this is a bug, because Bramble has an animation every time you spawn a Thorn, regardless of Parent, which implies you should have an actual Bramble on your side to produce Thorns.
