Horribles, a horror themed team:

Runner: Black Cat
Soldier: Werewolf
Medic: Mad Scientist
Sniper: Floating Eyeball
Heavy: Zombie (think Frankenstein)
Special: None

Horribles units all leave a tombstone when killed. Any unit allied with the Horribles can use its attack action on a tombstone to bring it back to life with 1 hp. If any unit steps on a space with a tombstone on it, the tombstone is destroyed.

Alternatively they could have a special unit that does a similar job:

Special: Grim (as in "reaper")

Grim doesn't attack, but he can use a special action (like the Mobi) to bring tombstones back to life with 1 hp.

alternatively the dead units could come back as Will-O-Wisps:

Will-O-Wisp: A floating ball of gaslike stuff
Movement: 2
Attack: 2
Health: 2

how about a starcraft, zerg team?
runner - zergling
soldier - broodling
heavy - ultralisk
sniper - hydralisk
medic - infestor
special - lurker
hp (2) movement (3)
ability: burrow
once burrowed the lurker may attack 3 times within a 3 hex radius around the lurker
-each attack only deals 1 damage to the base
-burrowing costs 1 wit
-unburrowing costs 1 wit
-can reattack the same unit
-can attack at the same turn of burrowing
-cannot attack if not burrowed
-cannot unburrow once it attacks

Was kind of wondering... What's the general forum attitude concerning teams that are functionally identical to existing teams (i.e. the special logically behaves exactly like Bombshell/Scrambler/Mobi/Bramble but looks and sounds different)? Seems to me this would be a much easier thing to do than introducing new teams with unique specials. You'd get greater thematic variety and an excuse for new maps and new music without the need to do any additional balancing, since the game's rules would remain exactly the same.

This would be fun, it is about the same as Scrambler though, taking a hostage could open gameplay up for negotiations. "If you release the Medic, your runner will not be harmed". That is until they make a Liam Neeson special.

I posted an individual thread about this, but I might as well document it here:

Since we have a Pirate team, it makes sense that we should also have a Ninja team

Team Name: Shinobi
Runner: Frog ninja
Soldier: Lizard Ninja
Medic: Snake Geisha
Heavy: Ninja Turtle
Sniper: Spitting Cobra ninja
Special: Sneaky Snake

Sneaky Snake:
Cost - 7
HP - 1
movement - 1
Attack - 3
Special: Sneaky Snake teleports to and attacks anything it can see. If it kills what it attacks, it occupies that unit's space after the attack. If it does not kill what it attacks it bounces off and lands on a random nearby space. Sneaky Snake cannot attack bases.

the team is designed to have a good matchup vs Scallywags so the whole "pirates vs ninja" meme is more interesting. I think it could be OP on maps with big holes like Machination and Thorn Gulley, but who cares, I doubt it will ever be a thing anyways lol

I've been considering this as an idea for a special.

Summoner

Move=3
Range=1
Special= summon - the Summoner can spend 1 wit to summon a Runner to attack for one damage, 2 wits to summon a Soldier to attack for two damage, or 3 wits to summon a Heavy or Sniper to attack for three damage. Spending an extra wit means the summoned unit can be placed adjacent to the Summoner, instead of bouncing back where it was. The Summoner can only attack if you have units on the battlefield for it to summon.

What the team'd be like, I don't know...
Runner - black cat
Soldier - wizard
Medic - witch holding cauldron
Heavy - ?
Sniper - ?

Medic type unit that increases a units range/attack for one turn, or an area buff (it would be a sun, casting its healthy light upon its subjects)
Or
A black hole that can suck up opponents within its range and place then next to it,
Or
Supernova! After transforms it Dies in maybe three turns, may hit twice but not base (to have other units power through)
Runners would be shooting stars (personified maybe a bit)
Soldiers would be planets
Medics would be regular smaller stars
Snipers would be giant lasers that can shoot anywhere on the map for over 9000. (Couldn't think of a unit for this one)
Heavies would be either a, black hole kind of thing, or b, a bright sun (depending on which is which xD)

REMEMBER! THE ENEMY'S BASE IS DOWN!! *rotates iPad 180˚*
