Alright another win. I was too afraid to attack becuase my line of sight always seemed to show a wall of troops. Either way he always seemed like a formative opponent.

Advice?

You seem to have a good concept of how to use your units, how they work together, and how many you need of each. Now you need to start to think a bit wider:
What general strategies apply on each map? Always attack mid or top on this map so you should almost never create a sniper...
Learn how to use the base's health to you advantage. With scallywags you should only attack the base if you can win in the next few moves. This also means you should allow a scallywags opponent to attack your base with a runner or two if they want to.

Soldier spam FTW

That game you just posted is the same one as the first one you posted on SFI.

Alright, obviously new to this map. First troop lost was dumb on my part. What could I have done to prevent from being slaughtered?
It was also very naive of me to think because my sniper wasn't in sight of the soldiers I could move him their for defense.

I've been told I should have spawned a mobi after defending the first attack. Any other advice on what I could change?

On turn six you placed your defensive formation too close to enemy forces, allowing an immediate attack. I also would have moved your newly spawned soldier into the formation instead of moving your left side runner.

Sometimes I do this a lot myself, but you moved your medic too much IMO.

When you attacked his side wit space after your first retreat, you took way too big a risk with your sniper. You put a runner right there where a soldier could get it, which is fine, but you also put your sniper in a position where if a soldier moved in to kill your runner it would see the sniper and the other soldier could jump in and kill it, which is exactly what happened.

that's all I noticed though. A Mobi probably would have indeed been helpful as someone told you already

Idk as far as advice goes. I feel obligated to give you some. Without the mobi, my guess is the next best thing is to take the wit space. The idea came from your game play I just think it was a turn too late.

Okay, I feel like I'm spaming now and I hate doing that or others doing it. However I do really want to get back to gifted league and even though I've been there before a few times it seems like I'm stuck in cleaver league.

This player started out as if he really knew how the troops work and he kept up the assualts surprisingly. Any advice or pointers?

I don't think you're spammin, that's what this thread is for. You may want to consider joining a clan if you really want some more dedicated help though.

anyways, on to your replay Smile

the first thing you did that irks me (though it's not necessarily a mistake) is you moved your medic to buff your sniper. While buffing your sniper is a pretty good idea on Reaper, you shouldn't do it that way. Generally you'll want to move your sniper within one space of your spawn anyways to get it into a better position, so if you just move you medic to the hex right above your spawn eventually your sniper will come to the medic instead of the other way around. This also leaves your medic right next to your spawn which is the "optimal" location, and since you don't have to move him 3 times it's more wit efficient.

Generally on Reaper it's a good idea to leave your heavy where it starts until you want to start attacking in order to avoid getting poked by runners.

You can generally afford to allow a runner to attack your base for a turn or two. I've even been known to let a soldier take me down to 1 if I know I can get an advantage from it. Just remember your base's HP is a resource just like wits or spawns.

all in all though I feel like both of you made your share of mistakes, but I think he made the bigger ones.

RE: Need advice? - Post your replay!
My opening being P1 or P2 is directly healthing the sniper, exactly as have done both players in this replay Smile I spend one more wit to move back the medic but it avoids some problem for later in the game and you don't have to move your snipe towards the medic, which costs more wits. But I do this because I play Adorable, so maybe it's not useful for other races!

Otherwise elpared said it all, I personnaly think practicing with higher ranked players is really helpful, so if you want to just send me friendlies Smile
