Hesitate to upgrade iPhone 4, since some reports say launching apps is much slower.
I noticed that animations when open/closing apps was clearly evident, but as time went on, my iPad sped up the lag and it appears to be running normal. It shouldn't be too much of a problem, just some time for your device to get everything settled in.

RE: Any ios7 issues?
Not sure if this is the size of the screen on 5/5s or iOS7, but my in-game chat on 2v2 doesn't take up the bottom 1/7 of the screen. It's just grey. Anyone else? I can post a screen cap of necessary.

Forgive me if this has been pointed out before.

Mine has the gray area too, its the part the message bar goes and the keyboard goes below it. It wasn't there before iOS 7

The more i think about it the less im sure

Now im sure it was always there

So it's a screen size issue?

RE: Any ios7 issues?
One thing I have noticed is that notifications don't always seem to come through. It works occasionally, but not always since upgrading to ios7.
