But, nobody expected David to have any chance of winning. Maybe I should have said pairings instead of matches. I was more referring to the odds rather than the result.

Gfich, your current description is unclear to me. What entails a clan pairing within a round? Just one game or a one-man-left game sequence? If it is just one game, the incorporation of 2v2 doesn't make sense and I think you need up to 16 rounds (2 strong clans and 2 weak). If it is a sequence, it will still be a very long tournament unless you do all the rounds in parallel (hard to track).

What do people think of having the number of seats taken being dependent on the player's rank/league?

I didn't catch that anywhere in the rules... could you explain that?

It's not in the rules. It is just an idea. A simple version of this would be: a ST takes 2 seats and others take 1. This would help level the playing field between ST-rich clans and others. It would be a way of adding a handicap.

That's not exactly fair though... A large number of people in the top 200 aren't even ST's. League matters a lot, but I don't think higher leagues should get a handicap.

I agree. If we are going to handicap anyone, it would be best if it was on top 200 content. Perhaps no more than 50% top 200 players, so you could have two of them initially, and get a third if you get the sixth seat.

ST taking 2 seats was just an example. Handicapping the top 100 as you say would be another solution. I'm not sure what the right equation should be. It might be useful to start with getting leagues, division ranks/points, and top 200 ranks of clan members. Then do some form of handicapping between the clans/players to help weaker clans be more competitive.

What happens if members that originally werent in the top 200 joined the clan grew so that they reached the top 200. I dont really like the idea of punishing clans for helping improve their members, isnt that what clans are mainly about? An environment so everyone can have fun, discuss strategies, and get better?
Idea: Tag Team (dont know how well this will work): Anyways, I was thinking, for example a clan seats 3 of 5 with top 200 players and the clan theyre going against seats 5 of 6 with top 200. Then for 2 games (5-3), the clan with lesser amount of top 200 can form a tag team to take on the other clan. Its basically a 2 on 1 where the "1" starts a game with the other 2 and play the same map, race, moves on both games, and then the "2" can discuss with each other what to do and play the same moves back to the "1".

Feedback welcome, if anyones confused, Ill try to clarify more

has this started?
if not, can anyone clarify things for me?
how many members are needed to participate?, are there restrictions on league?, how would pairing work?

we have more than a few members who are interested in joining this tournament.
and also i dont think it makes sense to name it one man left and have 2v2. maybe we can set up a different tourney for the clans 2v2s? it would also make it easier to come up with teams for clans that dont have 2v2 players.
