I think letting at least 1 person into the tourney from another "open" tourney would be a good idea . Perhaps the open tournament would only to be available to those not in the top 10 already, or something similar, and if the winner happens to be in the top 15 in the end, you move down the list until you hit a player that isn't.

The world cup would be perfect, I think, as mentioned before.
