RE: Actual FTA Data
Did they try just removing the fog for both players on the first turn? The second player having to guess what the 1st player does on turn 1 seems to be a pretty big deal since the first player already knows where the second player is at...

8 is better than 7, because of math.

Exactly. Other points may be valid, but first step is to make it mathematically equal, or as close as possible, then look for patterns. Takes a long time but gotta eliminate variables one by one. Math is beautifully objective, no debating it Wink

It's pretty hard to balance them... remember player 1 always has the option to pass his turn and start the next with 10 wits instead (although that's a pretty bad idea i think Tongue)

You think only Adorables use snipers on SFI?

True, but in this case, Player 2 would start with 8 Wits, while Player 1 follows with 10. It's not much of a change from Player 1 starting with 5 and Player 2 following with 8.

And besides, even incrementally, it would still be an improvement.

OML is trying to keep the game as intuitive as possible, so I don't think this would be a good choice, not to mention we'd still have the unit discrepancy.
