Another forum I used to frequent years ago/kinda still frequent a little bit again now (Adventure Game Studio) actually did have annual get-togethers despite the fact that everyone was from different parts of the world. It was called Mittens for no reason that I am aware of, and people would buy plane tickets and travel and hang out in a rented cabin and go to water parks and stuff just to meet up with these other people that they had only ever met online. I never went, because I could never afford a plane ticket (I'd rather, you know, buy ice cream and eat it with my girlfriend (at the time, now my wife (still eat ice cream with her (okay, one more for fun)))), plus, isn't it kinda scary/creepy meeting people in person that you've only met online?
