The future of Outwitters

RE: The future of Outwitters
Thoughts for Outwitters 2:

Eliminate the teams, by which I mean:

Treat Heavy, Soldier, Sniper, Medic, Runner like bases. Provide every player with a default skin for these units and then sell additional skins for a low price like $0.50 per. That will allow players to really customize the look of their own teams and provide additional revenue stream.

(You could even hold contests on the forums that allow the more artistically inclined users to submit design ideas for fresh skins for these units where the only reward for a winning submission is bragging rights and a freebie skin of their design.)

Selecting which skins to use for which units would then be done in the same manner as selecting a base skin is done now.

The 'team' would then be defined simply by the type of the special. So when starting a new game you wouldn't select a team type but which special you wish to use, while the base skins would be linked to the special type in the same manner that they are currently linked to the race type.

This would preserve the ability to identify your opponents 'race' selection right out of the gate. It would also allow for the production of a greater variety of special units without the added burden of developing an entire set of Heavy/Soldier/Runner/Sniper/Medic to match with each new special unit.

The specials could be sold for a higher price then the standard unit skins, say the current $1.99 charged for a team.

I propose that in starting a game there be an option to play as "No Special". It's entirely possible to achieve a top 20 rank without using specials and I don't think that the free version of the game should necessarily give away a special. People may lament this idea but not only would it likely produce more cash-flow for A&A, but it may force better player development as the backbone of the game is non-special unit utilization. Maybe much like the current "Remove ads with any purchase" OW2 could gift a special (player's choosing, default one or random one) with first purchase.

New Game Modes:

A Tournament mode would be awesome but I think programming it would be a nightmare because the variety of tournament ideas could never be fully accounted for.

1v3, the Enemy of my Enemy is my friend. A 4 player every man for himself brawl. I think this would be so awesome. Same basic layout as 2v2 but where it's every man for himself. Delivering the fatal blow to an opponent's base could capture their resources for your own.

Map Developer for friendly games would be awesome. It could also segue into user designed maps being chosen to be integrated into league play. Could probably charge quite a bit of $ for this option. (the ability to develop the maps, but using other users' custom maps should be free)

New and old maps:

Keep all of the existing maps and develop 1-3 for each new special.

Create at least 1 map with 6 total wit hexes.

Misc:

Implement an offer/accept draw option for players

Eliminate the ability of P1 in league games to quit without consequence before P2 joins.

Keep Bramble, but somehow fix it. Smile

He tried to block the alley, but didn't get far,
That's how the Mobi killed the Scallywag star

Best Feedback rank (TGH) 3rd
Best Adorables rank (-DF-) 12th
Best Scallywags rank (-TAM-) 25th
