I don't get it. Resigning isn't done out of spite and it doesn't ruin the other person's chance to win fairly. If you played well enough to put your opponent into a position where they felt that they had lost and so they resigned, then you already won fairly. Why do you feel that something has been ruined? Huh

Normally, resigning in a losing position is considered polite, not rude.
