2v2 scoring system
I'm in the fluffy league.
Winner gets +9 points, loser -14
(all the players are in the fluffy league, playing random).

What is the logic behind this?
How is this encouraging new players?

RE: 2v2 scoring system
Not sure how the point system works completely, it could be you being a higher rating than your opponent by a lot so that when you lose, you lose more points.

2v2 - w/jesusfuentesh #7
2v2 Master League - w/baustin #17 // w/Juslas #85 // Randoms #38

The loser could have had a better hidden rating, thus making them lose more points. Maybe. I dunno.

RE: 2v2 scoring system
I'm pretty sure the league points are purely based on your position within that league. If your opponent was higher in the league than you he loses more points because he lost to someone lower down then him. The same goes for a higher player winning gets less points added for beating a lower player.

The only exception to this is the Super Titans. Their wins always give them a lot of points and losses only lose them 1 or 2 points.

RE: 2v2 scoring system
Thanks for the answers, but this still doesn't make sense.
We have two possibilities:

a. The winners' ranking is higher than the losers'
Then why do they lose so much -14 ??

b. The winners' ranking is lower
Then why do the win so little +9 ??

Under no circumstance should you lose more points than you can win, otherwise this would become very demotivating.
Is this a bug?

RE: 2v2 scoring system
It's not a bug. It just means that you need to win more than you loose or beat higher ranked players in order to get to the top of the league/stay at the top. If someone looses too much or wins too much they move to a different league anyway (promotion/demotion), so the big gains and losses in points are wiped out.

RE: 2v2 scoring system
Ok, but that doesn't answer my last question: "How is this encouraging new players?"

I won 3 games after some hard work (+27 points), then lost 2 games due to inactive teammates (-28), so I'm back to zero points, although I have 3 won / 2 lost. I'm in the same position as a guy who hasn't even made a move in the entire game.

I'm just ditching 2v2, it seems seriously broken. This is probably why there are so many inactive players anyway.

RE: 2v2 scoring system
That's the problem with early 2v2 random, you should check the phineas method. However, if you win 3 and lose 2, you are closer to promoting.
