Damn how do you do that? Pls tell me because I'm using am iPod and I don't really bother enlargening the page so I press the wrong buttons half the time. If I had 50 a page = no buttons!

Any simplification will be an equivalant expression, there's nothing confusing about it. The minus sign in front of the bracket means to subtract everything in the bracket. In other words, add -1 times the bracket. You can't just get rid of the bracket.
