Hooray! This will be an exciting proving ground for 2v2 teams outside of the in-game league system. At the end of it all, who will be the last two mans left?

* A note about reserve teams: In the event that a team drops out before any matches are played, I will attempt to seed you into the bracket. I would like as many people to be involved as possible. However, my number 1 responsibility is to protect the integrity of the seeding and the teams who already made it into the tournament. I will always include a team having less than or equal to the seed of the team being replaced, or I will not replace the team at all and give a bye. For example, if a Fluffy team drops out, I will not replace them with a Masters team. This being the case, the numerical order listed above does not necessarily indicate priority. But I will utilize the order of priority within the bounds of the restrictions I just outlined. After round 1, however, if any teams drop out I will only be awarding byes. Please let me know if there are questions about this.

Who can participate?

This tournament is open to all pairs of two players, of any league. There are only three requirements:

1. You have a teammate (so, no random teams)
2. You and your teammate have completed your placement match(es) for the current season and have been placed in a league
3. You cannot enter the tournament multiple times on multiple teams

How to sign up

To sign up your team, please post in this thread expressing your interest in participating, along with the following information (from the current season):

1. Names of both players on the team (in-app names)
2. League
3. League points total
4. Division
5. Division rank

I will use this information to seed the tournament bracket, using the following order of priority: League, League points total, Division Rank.

Tournament format

The format of this tournament will be double elimination. This means that there will be a "losers bracket". Lose once, and you can still climb your way back to win the whole tournament! Lose twice, and you're out for good.

The size of the tournament will be a 64 team bracket.

Matches will be best of 1 for the initial rounds of the tournament. The higher seeded team will get first turn and choose the map. However, if the higher seed is not responsive, I reserve the right to transfer first turn and map selection to the lower seeded team.

In round 3 of the winner's bracket, and round 4 of the loser's bracket, matches will be best of 3. For best of 3 matches, three matches should be played simultaneously:

1. Higher seed starts game and chooses map
2. Lower seed starts game and chooses map
3. Higher seed starts game, lower seed chooses map*

FYI: "Higher seed" means a lower number. For example, 2nd seed is "higher" than 8th seed.

There is one exception to the FTA assignment: In the event that the same two teams meet for a second time (due to double elimination), and in the first meeting of these two teams, the lower seeded team won, then in the second meeting of these two teams, the lower seeded team is considered the "higher seed" and gets FTA (first turn for best of 1 matches; first turn in 2 out of 3 games for best of 3 matches).

* I will address cases where the higher seeded team cannot create a game on a given map because neither teammate has purchased the map on a case-by-case basis.

How to report match results

To report the result of a match, either team (but usually the winning team makes the most sense) can report the result of a match using the following format:
