Personal Questions Interview
This thread contains a bunch of questions for you to answer.

Feel free to skip any of these questions if you are not comfortable answering them on the Internet, obviously.

I'll give my responses below, but first, here is the list of questions:

How old are you?
Are you male or female?
In what country or region do you live?
What is your favorite food?
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
What is your favorite song or piece of music?
What's your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
What sort of job do you have, if you have one?
If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?
If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
If you could choose anyone to be your mentor, who would you pick?
If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
If you could have any one superpower, what would it be?
If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
If you had an unlimited amount of money, what would you spend your time doing?
If you could have any kind of pet or non-subservient animal companion, what would it be?
What would you name the autobiography of your life and why?
What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
Who is your favorite fictional character and why?
If you could make a movie about anything, what would it be about?
What would be the running time of the movie you made in the previous question?
What’s the hardest thing you've ever done?
What is something you learned in the last week?
Is a picture worth a thousand words? Elaborate.
Where’s Waldo?

And here are my responses:

How old are you?

I am thirty years old.

Are you male or female?

I am male.

In what country or region do you live?

USA, Southern California

What is your favorite food?

Gosh, I guess it used to be tacos when I was in 8th grade, and then more recently, I suppose it was gyros, but now I'm not really sure. I guess it might still be gyros, but lately they are being edged out by good ol' fashioned burgers.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Thrifty Medieval Madness from Rite-Aid

What is your favorite song or non-song piece of music?

Oh gosh, this is hard. Maybe a list of favorites will have to do:

"Starless" by King Crimson
"The ConstruKction of Light" by King Crimson
"Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap
"Prosper" by Locust Leaves
"Promise" by Locust Leaves
Beethoven's 32nd Piano Sonata

What's your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?

Hands down my favorite thing is composing music.

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

Folding and putting away laundry. ARGH! I HATE IT!

What sort of job do you have, if you have one?

I am a software engineer working mostly in C/C++.

If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?

It would be an album release party for my own music, but this'll probably not happen for years. Furthermore, I expect that everyone will leave before the album finishes playing, because probably no one will like it.

If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?

Thirty years old, my current age. I have finally matured enough that my heavy metal singing is more like Hansi Kürsch and less like Kai Hansen. Another way of looking at it is that it's more like James Hetfield circa ...And Justice for All and less like James Hetfield circa Kill 'Em All.

If you could choose anyone to be your mentor, who would you pick?

I don't know, poweewee I guess. I suck at Outwitters and need to get better. Tongue

If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?

Oh, I guess probably the creation of the Universe or something insipid like that.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Graphic arts! I wish I could draw/paint/etc. so much! Every time I've tried, it's turned out miserably, and for that matter I don't really have enough time to devote to it anyway.

If you could have any one superpower, what would it be?

I'd flip a coin for this. Heads, telekinesis. Tails, shapeshifting.

If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?

Well, my first name is Luke. If I had to change it, I would change it to Lüke.

If you had an unlimited amount of money, what would you spend your time doing?

I would divide my time between the following:

Listening to and composing music
Reading and writing novels
Reading and writing philosophy
Watching and making movies
Playing and making video games
Spending time with my family
Playing Outwitters
Pumping iron
Running

If you could have any kind of pet or non-subservient animal companion, what would it be?

Dude, it would be a magical flying miniature squid that could talk and breathe air even!

If we're talking about boring real life animals, then I guess I'd just go with a regular squid, or maybe an octopus since they are easier to keep alive in captivity. Oooooh, maybe a community of those immortal jellyfish! That would be cool to have!

What would you name the autobiography of your life and why?

It would be called Pentachoron and would actually be semi-autobiographically written as though my personality was formed by the aggregation of five separate distinct personalities. Actually, it would probably be a movie instead of a book. Tongue

What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?

Well, the whole thing is written by me and the five personalities mentioned above, but there aren't really titles yet, since I haven't written it yet. (Tongue again)

Who is your favorite fictional character and why?

I don't know. Probably that singing sketchpad from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. Don't ask me why. Probably something to do with Postmodernism?

If you could make a movie about anything, what would it be about?

It would be that autobiographical one I mentioned earlier! But in case we must have a different answer, I suppose it would be about a college student who creates a new universe with his mind and retreats into it in order to escape from the harsh realities of his loserdom in our world, and then his mind would split into three persons representing his id, ego, and superego, and then he flees from zombies and eyeball martians and maybe hooks up with a cannibalistic succubus with batwings or something and the four of them go on a road trip to the world's largest can of shaving cream. And like, the succubus and the guy have an argument about moral realism vs moral anti-realism, and the succubus coerces him into voicing agreement with her by threatening to puncture the can of shaving cream, which would, of course, be quite dangerous to all present. And then, like, he has to decide whether to go back to his own world or not or something like that? P.S. The guy's college roommate is named Leroy.

What would be the running time of the movie you made in the previous question?

Probably between two hours and two and a half hours, I suppose. I mean, I know what Hitchcock said about movies and bladders and all that, but look, how about if I just put an intermission in the middle of it? Would that be acceptable to you, Alfred?

What’s the hardest thing you've ever done?

Probably one of the problems on one of my calculus homework assignments in late 2008. I hadn't done any math in about six years and jumped right back into it at the calculus level, and I had to spend like eight hours a day in the library reading the textbook and agonizing through those damn problems. But by golly, I got an A in that freaking class!

What is something you learned in the last week?

There is an Indian restaurant in the shopping center near my workplace where I often eat lunch.

Okay, fine, a real answer: I learned that Marisa Tomei's taste in men is apparently quirky, funny, bald men.

All right, all right, try number three: I guess I learned about the view that certain elements in American culture strongly reinforce the notion that men are entitled to romantic attention from women based upon their purported merits and that this is an extremely damaging aspect of the culture.

Well, I guess I could go back to Marisa Tomei and the bald guy eating curry if you want.

Is a picture worth a thousand words? Elaborate.

Well, insofar as a picture's worth can be legitimately measured in terms of words, it seems doubtful that every picture would be worth exactly a thousand of them. Surely, some would be worth more and some less. I mean, surely there is some legitimate sense in which some pictures are worth more than other pictures, right? But if every picture is worth a thousand words (which seems to be in a sense very closely related to the sense in which pictures' worth can be compared against each other), then wouldn't that imply that all pictures have the same worth?

Maybe what's meant is that every picture is worth at least a thousand words? Even so, that seems doubtful to me. I mean, is Dodgy worth a thousand words? Is Cool worth a thousand words?

Related note: Clearly not every set of a thousand words is worth a picture, so it also doesn't work going the other way.

Where’s Waldo?

I'm skipping this question.

If you don't get my jokes, it's because of Postmodernism.
