Okay, but how do you guys feel about doing it now as opposed to later?
RE: Foundry, looking at the replays it just doesn't seem to me like we had any actually interesting matches. The predeployed units begin a bit too sparsely positioned to be able to get into a solid formation before units start getting killed off, and then it basically turns into a race to the base every time. I'm not sure this kind of play is really the sort of thing we're looking for. I'm open to disagreement, of course. If enough people are like, "Naw, man, you gotta have Foundry, it's like, an American institution, Bro!" or something then I am willing to let it be included, but as it is I'm leaning towards excluding it. At the present moment, I am considering Foundry Skullduggery as banned maps, with Long Nine Sweetie Plains Thorn Gulley as clearly accepted maps, with Sharkfood Island Glitch Peekaboo War Garden Sweet Tooth as maybes, probably with an added "you can spawn a runner" rule for runnerless maps, especially Sweet Tooth. And finally, Reaper as probably not viable, but I'm not strongly committed to that stance since it has a runner and the "tiptoeing around blindly" fests that often happened were at least amusing to watch. What if we allowed a single medic spawn on Reaper? Would that make it work? I'm even thinking War Garden might be good if you're allowed to spawn one runner and one sniper during your first two turns (either both on first turn or split between first and second turns). |
