First round matches are now listed, but it seems random to me.

Teams placed at 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th are on the same side of the bracket. Giving "somewhat" advantage to 2nd placed team.
Also teams ranked 5th and 6th play against each other on first round.

I have been complaining "newbie" organizer about writing ALL rules before tournament starts.
Now I complain that dear organizer cannot follow his/her own guidelines published.
And not "all" about rules are revealed - therefore still I complain ;-)

1-16, 2-15, 3-14, 4-13, 5-12, 6-11, 7-10, 8-9

Seriously, it doesn't matter that much. BTW, can you start our game? Or should we start it?
