That's not a counter, that's more of a blind rush. There are safer openings.

Given what you saw it was a good play in that first game you posted. It's a strategy that you can't expect to win you every game though since your opponent should have had at least one more unit at the bottom. But he wasted his runner throwing it headlong into your soldier and heavy which no good player would do. If he had had that 1 runner or a soldier at the bottom your scrambler would have died. It was a good strategy for that game but it isn't something that you can use all the time.
