Shorter time limit would end up having more games get forfeited because of a vacation or work trip where you don't bring your device with you.

Inelegant is a good word. It is the only hidden status in he game. Everything else is visible. There are no hidden buffs like increased attack/defense power since it would take away from the simplicit... |

It would be nice if you kill a back root killing three other thorns you got 4 wits for it. Make the bramble plan better rather than spam thorns |
