I seem to be able to see too far in the attached game pic.
I'm green, playing with blue. Surely I shouldn't be able to see the pink elephant? Is it a bug?

Units can look across gaps (snipers can shoot too), your runner is seeing the sniper 'around' the soldiers.

Yes, your runner can see over the empty spaces. Counting these spaces, the sniper is 5 spaces away.
