Who's in charge here? RE: Tournament for lower leagues - TheQwertiest - 10-09-2012 01:46 AM i would guess 8 or 16. We've already got 8 willing to play, but that doesn't seem like much of a tournament. RE: Tournament for lower leagues - Butternut22 - 10-09-2012 09:12 AM I want to be in the tournament. Account: janreggie League: gifted RE: Tournament for lower leagues - Eijolend - 10-09-2012 04:57 PM I'll post an update later today with all the participants so far, etc. For the format it will most likely depend on how many people we get. I think the Group Stages with everyone playing 2 games against each other from the World Cup worked really well and I'd like to adapt that if we get at least 16 players. A big thing is I want to assure that everyone gets to play at least a couple of games, so Swiss or Double Elimination should work as well. Probably with everyone playing 1 game as p1 and one game as p2 as well. Swiss would be interesting since it allows for Ties, which would eliminate the need for a Tie-Breaker (which is quite hard to find as discussed in the World Cup Thread) until the very end. Does that sound good? Your input would be very much appreciated. RE: Tournament for lower leagues - Coolwhip18 - 10-09-2012 05:37 PM Prizes just bragging rights? RE: Tournament for lower leagues - TheQwertiest - 10-09-2012 08:06 PM TheQwertiest forever clever ranked 15 76 league wins 730 points i think it sounds good. i cant give a better suggestion cause i have no experience in tournaments. and i think it would be enough of a prize to experience joining a tournament. RE: Tournament for lower leagues - Demon - 10-09-2012 11:12 PM Ties should be good for group play. Also, bragging rights are the only prize worth playing for. |
