Right, but I can decline an unfavorable matchup.

Choose 3 units,
Each game you gain/lose 2 units depending on if you win and lose,
Only 1 spawn per game unless you choose the Mobi or Medic
You don't have to state which of your 3 units you will spawn
Right?

Necrocat219
Super Titan

If these are conditions I think I choose:
Veggienaught Bramble
Veggienaught Medic
Adorable Mobi

The way I interpreted it was that each player chooses their top 3 choices, and since there are 24 units and 24 players, each player gets assigned one unit based on their preferences, and everybody gets a different unit. So you start by "owning" one unit.

During games, you can spawn any of the units you own, as many times you want. So if you own an adorables soldier, mobi, and scally runner, you could for instance play as adorables and spawn 5 soldiers and 2 mobis. But you can't spawn a runner as the runner you own is a scally runner.

At the end of the game, the winner chooses one unit to "steal" from the loser, and the loser subsequently loses use of that unit. If you no longer own any units, you can play one more match, but you can't spawn any units. You would probably want to do this as a 2v2. If you lose that one, you are kicked out of the tournament.

AttackBomb, you may want to post this simpler explanation on the original post. Some questions I have:
Is there anything to gain in beating a player with no units left?
I am not sure how exactly the challenge system for determining matchups works. Could you elaborate?

If one beats one with jickity jack, they gets the utter honor of eliminating one opponent from the tourney.

Also those from your clan can help counter in 2v2 matches if you are the representative. For example, you have runners and your opponents have medics and runners, invite someone to counter balance the scales.

Also I will release the map system when some more come.

I'm thinking of this and I think that players choosing their opponents might not work so well. (I also remember this is similiar to Ozserf Capture the flag Attackbomb? Not sure if would work well here) I have a decent idea for how this could work in a more organised, it could be a double-elimination tournament (that means knockout but you get 1 chance), which can be organised on challonge; everyone gets 2 lives, or units in this case, so that it runs a bit smoother.

Ok if that cleans this mess up. I'm in.

P.S. I haven't played his game, I was on break.

RE: Species Specific Tournament - Flarp55 - 03-11-2014 08:42 AM

I think every player should select if they would like to play 1v1 or 2v2, and then everyone gets matched randomly.

Certain rounds could be different maps? Some 2v2 and others 1v1
