Clan Activity Discussion - .Memories. - 09-30-2013 08:35 AM

Hi all,

So I know this was brought up in the Good Game Tournament thread, but I think it deserves its own spot for discussion. A few people have mentioned that activity in their clan is diminishing and/or hard to foster, so I'll share a little about Diamond League to maybe spark a discussion in hopes to improve this.

Here are a few things that we've set up. I don't want it to sound like a marketing speech, just want to get the ideas out there in the hopes of helping the community.
  • Continually looking for new members.
  • Removing inactive members.
  • In-clan tournaments.
  • Posting and discussing replays.
  • Discussing maps.
  • Off-topic (non-Outwitters) threads.
  • No league requirement.
There's obviously other stuff, but those seem to be the main things. Honestly, the clan's members keep it going, not Harti or myself. There are ups and downs in activity, but it's never to the point of no return.

So let's talk about clan activity and possible solutions to advert the death of what I think is one of the great aspects of this community! Someone mentioned merging multiple clans, and others had good ideas, too. Discuss!

Unfortunately the real issue is just that the number of people that are still playing the game are decreasing daily. Without new patches or updates this game is only going to be losing players, not gaining or even retaining them. Even this whole forum as a whole has become a lot less active than it used to be.

Sad to say since I love this game but I know I am playing it less and less each day and checking/participating on the forums less frequently as well.

Not that it really matters for much but shouldn't Season 4 have also started like a month or two ago?

I agree. The number of active players is obviously the problem. Unfortunately, we, the active members, are the last stand against the impending obsoletion of the game. I'd really hate to see that day.

Anyway, since we are talking about clans, then yes, maybe there is a way for the clans to merge? There haven't been a lot of topics in our clan threads, so maybe it would be interesting to meet new clanmates.

NO NOT SEASON 4.
I've been building up my points to 450+ hoping to get promoted to master.
Would be a shame to see all that go to waste. Sad

try to get a good winning streak instead of focusing on how much points you have. you can have as much as 1000+ points and still not get promoted.

The system retains your stats across the season change so won't affect your chances of promotion

Fluffy League Wrong. The first match of the new seasons IS a promotion match. So basically new season means higher chance of promotion. Big Grin.

That's a very confident "wrong". Are you 100% sure?

RE: Clan Activity Discussion - TheQwertiest - 10-01-2013 04:24 PM

i think youre wrong doodat
higher chance of promotion ≠ promotion match.
if its a promotion match then its 100% that youll get promoted when you win.
i have won all my placement matches and i didnt get promoted on any of them.

Exactly

Anyhow, we digress. Sorry .Memories. Smile
