Instead of going -1, why don't you also go +1 to the opponent if applicable? If you pick the wrong team and lose, there's no point in getting -1 point total when you're going to get 0 anyways.

Any games for round one not started by today will be considered a forfeit.

They still lose -1 from their total points.

On the bright side you can now participate in the Rising Star tournament and you will get an extra point for beating a master for this tournament. What's your new rank?
