Thanks laYahooz and Necrocat for your soldier considerations. I also believe that it is important to boost soldiers if the opponent has snipers or heavies or runners nearby. In pure soldier faceoffs a boost can be just a waste of wits. So it really boils down to wit efficiency - again. Whar a surprise :-)
@ Necrocat: everything you write about my opening in that game is correct. It is simply a disaster. i guess I wanted to try something different by putting the soldier to the wit space I wanted to have a wider view to protect against surprise attacks on that side but it certainly doesn't work the way I. Did it. It is much better to put the heavy on the wit point and to cover the view with a more mobile unit in the center. The threat to the medic was not clear when playing but is such a common thing that you have to protect against it.
As for the medic action you are also right. I really have to put more emphasis on wit efficiency. I am often too cautious and waste wits by boosting when it isn't really necessary.

This is a good game I did on SFI. Won with scrambler despite the opponent's bombshell, without too much turtling on either side. Not sure if he could have done anything in his last 2 turns to counter the scrambler..?

Here was a fun game on Sweetie Plains vs. a Master. This is my 5th consecutive win against a Master so I'm itching for promotion, but I know if I keep this up I will eventually get promoted!
