Tornament testers wanted - brayton - 01-05-2013 09:47 PM

Hi all, brayton here again.
Im looking for a group of dedicated players.
I will host tornaments, with the purpose of finding/refining tornament styles that resolt in easily readable leaderboard stats, showing results.
MOST players will not be elimenated, some tornaments may have 0 elimination.

I am asking for 8 to join for the first tornament, but please add contacts if you want to be in any of the other ones. This first tornament will be replecated and adjusted, then set to larger scales.
Super-Titans will not be in the first 8 person tornament, but if 8 or more Super-Titan only tornaments will come.

Please sign up for such games if you are willing to comeback and play again, since most will result in you playing another game(or 5).

Thank you, brayton.
Sign ups- please include your country/regions GMT, which will aid in fast games.

Why not think of eight players, create two or three prototypes, quickly mock them up on pen and paper (or online with balsamiq) and ask a poll?

As in: why do you need real players to play games against each other? Mind that you won't get much feedback from participants usually (trust me, I've been running TCG tournaments for six years). They just play. Because that's what they do.

If you need assistance or tips you might as well send Gfich a PM. He's like the Outwitters tournament overlord and surely has some experience with them.

Yes, ive already been doing pen and paper versions of the tornamanents, up to the last round. Ive got four prototypes, initial group/team games, ranking non-elimination, ranking elimination and chain reaction games(rankings where after ranking players from different leagues verse each other, potentially making it to the top, but if they fall short another takes up whe they left off).
The group/team games were a pain to work out all possible effects, since it goes
ranking(within team)- competition between teams- ranking overall- points for team.

So ive got pen and paper prototypes to a level that its ready enough for public/signups without unfairness/smoothness kinks,

I though considering the environment on the forums, that players/members might be more willing to report data/thoughts/concerns about the setup/proto-tornaments. Soo many active users who are on the threads.

PS i made this since the ranking style of tornaments isnt so much on these forums, its mostly elimination.

Ill look in about balsamiq(not the vinigar)
