There's a similar thread, but is more focused on video games with only a few mentions of board games. So I'll ask a question, do you play tabletop games, i.e. board, card, and role playing games? What are your favorites? I'll list some of mine:

Dominion
Magic: the Gathering
Battlestar Galactica
Flash Point: Fire Rescue
D&D and D20 Modern
The Resistance
Betrayal At House on the Hill
Carcassonne

As you may be able to tell, I'm a fan of the more modern day board games.

Nope, 20 years old but still going strong. As for Snakes & Ladders, it's all luck, vs. Outwitters, which has no luck at all.

Settlers of Catan
Carcassone
Risk

you asked for a favorite board game. why compare it to outwitters?

I just think they're complete opposites on the luck front. And Outwitters plays like a board game.

The only board game I play as it was intended is Catan. The other boardgames my friends and I play pretty much just use the pieces and board but with different rules. Sometimes we mix pieces and play an entirely new game. Vanilla games are usually pretty boring by comparison. We don't really play boardgames that often though. Maybe once every 2 months? But since we play so rarely it's always a marathon when we do!

Stratego! Old school fog of war concept, kinda...

All custom games me and my friends make are rubbish when it comes to balancing.

I loved monopoly when i was young. But now i hate it. Too much chance. No strategy. Boring.
I like diplomacy. But my friends are too dumb and impatient to read 28 pages to play Sad

I want to get into axis and alies
But i need someone to play with
Or 5 someones.
