Autodesk scaleform and flash - brayton - 01-01-2013 10:27 PM

Another question i have is- autodesk scaleform
Autodesk scaleform is a tool for creating more'powerful' applications using flash( am i right?). Autodesk scaleform is in flash, and works with other adobe products.
Why cannot outwitters be in browser with flash, or is it different flash due to scaleform, and would require download to become a 'real' program. Is it how its compiled and written. Is outwitters still heavily based on (c, c++, objective c) IOS languages.

Autodesk say that scaleform is compatable with Mac OSX, Android, PC, (linux?) and IOS.mavey even consols. So are these platforms able o work with scaleform, but the whole application isnt actually 'in' scaleform( like its not in scaleform language, rather than any/little c++ with flash for the most part.), so scaleform would aid, but not do everything. Cause they've shot down android ports, and i can respect that.
But im asking how difficult it would be, so if a team willing to optimise with scaleform to be released on various consoles before they even know whether there will be demand for the game on such consols/platform.

Ps. How much does autodesk licensing cost.

Thankyou for any response.
Brayton

Is this in the right forum section?

My question is, why would anyone want to play outwitters on a console? Convenience is king in this day and age.

I'd totally play Outwitters on PC! That being said, I think Outwitters is using GameCenter for matchmaking?

As for Auto-Desk, you can get a free student version (not sure if it still works) here: http://students.autodesk.com/

Hi guys!
This is Greg from Autodesk and I'll do my best to clarify a few things.
Scaleform is a highly optimized flash runtime. Users create content using Adobe Flash then deploy that content on mobiles or consoles using Scaleform. When deploying to mobiles (iOS,Android) users can use our $295 per seat/per platform license found here: http://gameware.autodesk.com/support/downloads. We do not have a web plugin so you can't use Scaleform for web purposes. For a side-by-side comparison of our different licenses please visit http://gameware.autodesk.com/trials.
Hope this helps!

Thankyou greg for clarifying that. I understand to some point now.

my relationship with the internet is the same as gollum and precious.
I go to mount doom just to play asynchronus.
When it stops working, i break down, panic and hunt hobbits.
